Eckhart von Hochheim (c. 1260 – c. 1328), commonly known as Meister Eckhart or Eckehart, was a German Catholic theologian, philosopher and mystic. His writings and sermons were deemed as heresy by the ruling Franciscan order of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.


Genso Boku-Undo Sumi Ink and acrylics on Oguni Snowbleached handmade Heritage Washi. Texts are Eckhart's original High Middle German notes, and English translation. The orange Japanese Kanji are the characters meaning "to defile" or "stain."
